Bright Eyes
New Album?
I don’t think Conor Oberst sleeps. After releasing simultaneous
albums on different labels last year, the front man for Bright
Eyes is hinting at new finished material. MTV News is reporting
that Bright Eyes is currently looking to release the album by
early 2007. |

Pixies Plan
Another Tour
In what seems to mimic Cher’s Farewell Tour (that never ends)
the Pixies are planning yet another reunion tour this summer.

DJ Shadow New
Album Getting Closer
Although there is no firm release date for the planned Summer
release of the highly anticipated next from DJ Shadow, there is
a single out. “3 Freaks” features Keak Da Sneak and Turf Talk
and strays away from the formula most associate Shadow with. As
opposed to the often atmospheric hip-hop beats in his past
efforts, the as of yet named album seems to be going in the
direction of heavy base hip hop. You can currently stream the
video at the
official website. |

$5,000,000 Not Enough For Smiths Reunion
Massive organizers Coachella couldn’t get The Smiths to reunite
for their festival later next month in California. According to
a press release by Morrissey himself, it was never about the
money but personal issues within the band.
This pretty much squashes any future hopes
of the band ever getting back together because if you turn down
that kind of up front cash, your entire band had better be in
rehab and drooling. |

The Vines Swing Back
The band once helmed as the next Nirvana but fell well short of
expectations are readying their third studio album, Vision
Valley, for April 4th release. Part of the uphill
challenge for the Ausie group has not only been the label placed
on them once, but front man Craig Nichols was diagnosed with a
rare brain disorder, Asperger Syndrome. The disease can lead to
autistic like behavior.
On a happier note, here is a track listing
of the album due out early next month:
Anysound
Nothins Comin
Dandy Daze
Vision Valley
Don't Listen to the Radio
Gross Out
Take Me Back
Going Gone
Fuk Yeh
Futuretarded
Dope Train
Atmos
Spaceship |

Gnarls Barkley ‘Crazy’ Popular
Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse, the duo that make up Gnarls Barkley,
are set to have their single ‘Crazy’ shoot to number one on the
UK charts next week. The song, which is currently number one on
iTunes download charts, poses a bit of a mystery to the two
responsible.
"This is all a big mystery," Danger Mouse
tells Billboard.com with a laugh about why "Crazy" is blowing
up. "Cee-Lo is always asking me, 'Why? Why do they like this so
much?" Not that we don't like the song. We do. But the first
time that song was ever sung out of his mouth is what you hear.
One take."
The album, St. Elsewhere is due out in
stores April 24th overseas and May 3rd
stateside. |
