Sonic Youth Tour with Pearl Jam
It amazes me that anyone goes to see Pearl Jam these days; just
Pearl Jam. First we were floored with the awesome news that
hauntingly good My Morning Jacket were opening for PJ on their
first half of the tour. But now, we are aghast with pleasure to
hear that Sonic Youth will open for Vedder et al on the last leg
of the tour. Dates follow:
07-06 Las Vegas, NV - MGM Grand
Arena
07-07 San Diego, CA - Cox Arena
07-09 Los Angeles, CA - The Great Western Forum
07-10 Los Angeles, CA - The Great Western Forum
07-13 Santa Barbara, CA - Santa Barbara Bowl
07-16 San Francisco, CA - Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
07-28 San Francisco, CA - Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
In other Sonic Youth news, the
obsessive fan can catch them on the season finale of Gilmore
Girls. Watch out Bait Shop, you have some competition. Damn
you WB for bastardizing my music with the likes of FOX! |

Gnarls Barkley Make Single
History
Following up a previously reported story on the Danger Mouse and
Cee-Lo duo known as Gnarls Barkley, the band is set to make
history. According to the UK charts, the single “Crazy” has hit
number one. Nothing new, but what is groundbreaking is the fact
that the single is only available as a download. So, basically,
word of mouth and demand has pushed this song into the
stratosphere. You can catch Gnarls in the US, but only at the
following festivals:
04-30 Indio, CA - Empire Polo Field
(Coachella)
08-05 Chicago, IL - Grant Park (Lollapalooza) |

Oh how the UK press loves their Pete Doherty and the ongoing

Blur Working On New Album
Pushing aside issues like estranged guitarists and multiple side
projects for the remaining members, Blur is working on a new
studio album due out this year. This will be the first album
for Blur since 2003’s Think Tank. Since then, Damon Albarn’s
side project Gorillaz has seen critical and financial success.

Eagles of Death Metal’s Second
Don’t let the title fool you; this is not a one-armed drummer
tribute group. I have more metal in my mouth than these guys
have in their entire catalogue. That said, Eagles of Death

Strokes this summer. Here’s the track list due out on store
shelves April 11th through Downtown Records.
