Smashing Pumpkins Reunion
As posted on the bands website, the oft rumored but never confirmed reunion of The Smashing Pumpkins is under way.  The band is currently penning songs for the upcoming unannounced album.  Unfortunately, no one really knows the band members yet and we can promise you that two of yesteryears won’t show up for the chips-n-dip.  James Iha and D’arcy Wretzky and been well documented as shaky at best and Corgan has been bitter toward them as the direct cause of the bands original demise.  Fortunately, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin is in by signing a management agreement with Corgan.

Babyshambles’ Doherty Arrested, Again
Babyshambles lead singer/Frontman Pete Doherty was arrested today on suspected drug possession hours after leaving court.  Earlier in the day, Doherty appeared in court on previous drug possessions charges which resulted in a court ordered 18 month rehab stint, 2 year probation, and 6 months license suspension.  Although not confirmed, sources close to the East London Police Station have reported Doherty was in fact the man arrested along with another 21 year old male with intent to supply by plain clothed officers.  More as it unfolds and his life continues its shitter spiral.

David Lee Roth Canned
Howard Stern has new material; rejoice!  His replacement from New York standard radio airwaves David Lee Roth has been fired.  Earlier this year, DLR replaced Stern as the infamous morning shock jock moved over to Sirrus Radio in a multi year multi-million dollar contract.  Unfortunately, the shoes seemed to big to fill and audiences quickly dissipated some 50% reports state.  Of course, those numbers won’t come in until next weeks Winter 2006 Arbitron results are revealed.  Here’s hoping this leads to the much delayed Van Halen reunion; Panama II.  CBS will replace Roth with Opie and Anthony Show syndicated by none other than satellite giant XM.

Demme Does M’s
Jonathan Demme just can’t get enough of the music scene as of late.  Fresh off the release of his Neil Young documentary Heart Of Gold in which he followed the grunge god through his tour and his life, Demme is now tackling Chicago’s M’s music video for “Future Women”.  If you’ve been living in a cave, Demme is known as the Oscar winning director behind Silence of the Lambs and others like Philadelphia.  He also shot Stop Making Sense by the Talking Heads back in the day.  Look for the video toward May.

Ziggy Full of Love
Many things make me want to do the nasty, but Ziggy Marley has never been the man to set my mood.  Apparently he’s looking to change that with his upcoming second solo effort Love Is My Religion.  Gone from the Melody Makers, his previous backup crew, and now a newlywed, Ziggy is looking to get in touch with his feminine side and work on the ladies moods.

In a recent interview with Billboard.com, the eldest of Bob’s kids said this about his new outlook: "Right now, I want to groove more. I want to be onstage and be able to groove throughout the whole album. In the past, I was very artsy, and I did a lot of artistic things, which was just for me. But that should have been just for me," he adds, laughing. "Now, I'm grooving for everybody."

The album is tentatively set for release in July.  Get both your sacks ready.

Lemonheads Ready New Album
Shit twice and die; the Lemonheads are ready to hit the airwaves once again.  Known for their cult indie hit parade It’s A Shame About Ray, and much more mainstream driven Come On Feel the Lemons the band spiraled downward in sales and eventually broke up after Car Button Cloth in ’96.  With sporratic substance abuse issues and a botched solo carrier in the past, lead Evan Dando and the original members are back and now with Vagrant Records.

All restraining order jokes with Juliana Hatfield aside, we are pumped as hell for another run at sub pop bliss.  The album is still untitled but penciled for a September release.

Neil Young Plots War
Looks like Neil Young’s PR department is gonna have its hands full.  His upcoming album Living With War’s promotion has gone full steam ahead.  The website released lyrics and track listings and without having to read more than a few lines, Young is pissed off.  Unlike Pearl Jam’s upcoming war statement self titled release which refuses to point any fingers at one source, Young is firing directly at the Bush administration and all their faults.  Here’s the track list:

01 After the Garden
02 Living With War
03 The Restless Consumer
04 Shock and Awe
05 Families
06 Flags of Freedom
07 Let's Impeach the President
08 Lookin' for a Leader
09 Roger and Out
10 America the Beautiful

Living with War will be available for download on May 2nd and shortly thereafter in your local music outlet.
