Pete Doherty Finds Jesus
It's the day of follow-ups, folks.  And what better way to keep the ball rolling than a Pete Doherty story - a fucked up turn of events at that.  The Babyshamble's frontman, who recently checked himself into the famed Portuguese drug clinic to kick his smack habit has reportedly found Jesus.  It is reported by Britain's Daily Star that the singer/songwriter is looking to get baptized once he leaves the clinic.

Of course, it will be interesting to see how the church takes in a person who usually cares less of what the public thinks of him by allowing pictures of him jacked up and his super fly ex Kate Moss doing lines.  Of course, they do accept George Bush, so anything is possible.

White Stripes Win Royalties Lawsuit
Following an on-going story and hopefully a closure, the White Stripes have won a lawsuit brought against them by their ex-producer, Jim Diamond.  A federal jury ruled on Thursday that Jack and Meg White do not have to share royalties with Diamond who claimed he was responsible for their signature sound off their first two albums. The eight-member panel only took 20 minutes to deliberate and reach a decision.

Subways Back On Tour; Beat Vocal Issues
Ah the trials of puberty.  After sitting out for the past few weeks and combating the problem for months, singer/guitarist Billy Lunn has overcome nodules (click link below for medical definition) on his vocal chords which originally forced the band to cancel multiple shows including a much needed appearance at Coachella.  The act stated in a recent press release:

“To the bands delight (Lunn) has been informed that, though not completely gone, his vocal nodules have shown vast improvement.”

The trio will get back on the tour schedule and debut some new material while supporting last year's release Young for Eternity.

Outkast Announce New Single; Confirm Release Date
Boi it's been too long.  Finally, Outkast has confirmed a release date for the long awaited Idlewild.  The follow up to 2003's Speakerboxx/The Love Below is scheduled to hit store shelves August 21st.  But wait, there's more; the band is set to release their first single from the new album entitled 'Mighty-O' on August 7th.

Coincidentally, the new album shares the name of their new movie due out September 15th and has been in production longer than Bush has been in office.

Killers Relocate to Finish New Album In London
The Killers have reportedly relocated to London in hopes of finishing their as-of-yet titled new album.  The follow up to 2005's Hot Fuss was originally started in the groups Las Vegas studio but jetted overseas to put the finishes touches down.  Frontman Brandon Flowers posted his thoughts on the new album:

"It's shaping up to be a lot more serious than the last album.  I guess that's because the band is growing up. We're not singing about teenage girls anymore."

We'll keep you posted on track listings and album cover info as it arrives.

Panic! at the Disco's ex Bassist Pissed
Former Panic! at the Disco's bassist Brent Wilson just turned it up to 11.  After what seemed like a quiet split, the ex-mate has verbally discharged some harsh remarks against his old band.  What was once 'a decision we came to as a band' is now put more elegantly by Wilson in a recent MTV.com interview:

"I was kicked out of the band," he said. ""It was 100 percent a surprise to me. We were about to leave for a show in California, and they called me the night before and told me I was out of the band. The only reason they gave was that it was for 'musical purposes.' Everything was good and fine, we had just gotten back from a tour in Europe, and there had been no previous conversations about anyone leaving the band. I don't know why they chose me."

At press, the only comment the band had was that they wished to put the event behind them and move on.  We'll see if Wilson is willing to do the same.

Pete Yorn's New Album Details; Tour Info
A George Lucas he's not.  Pete Yorn is putting the final touches on his newest album, entitled Nightcrawler which would culminate his self described 'trilogy' - each album covered morning, day, and night.  Nightcrawler is due out August 15th via Columbia Records and is the follow-up to the much beloved Musicforthemorningafter [2001] and the safe but solid Day I Forgot [2003].  While it was a consensus thought around Pensatos that Yorn would release a b-sides to his last effort, Day I Forgot because it was reported he had originally conceived it as a double album, it never happened and we've been in the dark for almost 3 years:

"Every time I put something out, I need time to re-group," he told billboard.com. "Every song I write has its own life and term of development. I'm not the type of writer to set aside certain hours each day to write. It just takes time to come."

Yorn plans on trying out some of the new titles on tour before the final release of the album.

Doherty Misses Court Appearance Because of Rehab
It's just getting old folks.  Pete Doherty is missing court once again for his recent drug possession charges.  This time however, the judge was happy since the reason Doherty could not make the scheduled appearance was because of self detained rehab in Portugal.

How the rehab went is still up in the air; Doherty returned this weekend so we'll have more soon.
