After the much ballyhooed implosion of Mclusky
and Jarcrew, the ashes have spawned one better in
the form of Future of the Left. Former member Andy
Falkous fronts the band backed by Jack Egglestone on
drums and Kelson on Base. Even better, the band is
moving forward at a alarming rate releasing info on
their upcoming debut on TooPure records. On January
30th, the band will release a double A 7” Single
‘Fingers Become Thumbs/The Lord Hates A Coward’. Of
course, we figure you need a sample of the goods so

Fibre Provider’ which will also grace the single

The Duluth, Minnesota troupe - Low, of nearly 15
years are readying their new studio album Drums and
Guns for release on March 20th care of Sup Pop
Records. The eighth full length effort by the band
will have Dave Fridmann back in the producer box.
Fridmann’s credentials include work with Modest
Mouse, Mogwai, Phantom Planet (scream ‘California’
with me), Sparklehorse, The Delgados, Flaming Lips,
and a little known trio of chicks called Sleater-Kinney.
But Fridmann is no freshman when it comes to Low as
he also helped them with their 2005 effort The Great
Destroyer. Dedicated fans may actually have already
heard much of the album on the bands recent live
dates but are in for a treat as the studio works are
manipulating the hell out of each track including
vocal loops and drum machines not heard on stage.

homeland.
